Duke of Hamilton, Hampstead
FancyaPint?'s review...
Having won our award for Best Pub in London last year, the Duke seems to be going from strength to strength. Last year's refurb has seen the interior restored to its former comfortable traditional pub interior and the garden at the rear has been extensively upgraded to a very pleasant place to enjoy a sunny day. Under the management of the same team as the Barnsbury in Islington, the success has rubbed off on this one too, as it's just received Cask Marque Accrediation for its beer - and very good it is, too! We were lucky enough to find CAMRA's winner in the Golden Ale category at last year's beer festival, Kelham Island's Pale Rider on when we were in last; a very nice pint. It seems to have found its rhythm and the locals have adopted it whole-heartedly, making for a pretty pleasant atmosphere. The food seems to be going down well, too (the curry that was on smelled pretty amazing!). There's also a mix of events happening in the cellar bar, with regular comedy and music nights on - they've even branched out into fringe theatre! With a jolly landlord and friendly staff combined with everything coming together, we see no reason this shouldn't be a five pinter - and have changed the rating accordingly.

Overview
A classic locals pub that has now been cleaned up but left with the classic features of the old pub, many locals come in, and are fun, friendly and even gossip like old women, kinda funny really, like a TV show.
we have great ale selection, and we also have a bar below the pub called The Hideaway which is a sports bar with a rugby bias, great fun
We do hope to see you, your very welcome and we will go out of our way to make you feel welcome and have fun. We are not a gastro, we simply do great drinks, bar snacks and we always have fun. HAPPY PEOPLE WELCOME!
